Kingston, Jamaica: West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle posted a video on Instagram and a tweet asking Australians to “lighten the  ph…up. The big hitting batsman used creative spelling of an expletive which alluded to comment he made to then Channel 10 presenter Mel McLaughlin exactly a year ago when she interview him after a Melbourne Renegades game.

The former West Indies captain asked McLaughlin whether she will be interested in having  a drink with him and then said ” don’t blush baby “, after she became uncomfortable with his question.

Gayle was later fined $10,000 by Cricket Australia over the incident. In the video, the Jamaican can be seen in suggestive poses with a dancer at a carnival.

His tweet which accompanied a link to the Instagram video read: ”  4th of Jan officially 1 year anniversary. Don’t blush baby, Australia lighten the ph…up.
