Capetown, South Africa:  Fast bowler Kagispo Rabado destroyed Sri Lanka  on the fourth of the third Test Newland. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 282 runs to give South Africa a comprehensive victory with a day and a half to spare and a unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series.

Sri Lanka started the day on 130 for 4 and were bowled out in just over 100 minutes of play. They lost their final six wickets for 94 runs after being set a massive target of 507 runs on Wednesday. Rababa who had the outstanding figure of six wickets for 55 runs ran though the visitors in fast seven over spell.

His first wicket was Dinesh Chandimal  caught at short leg by Stephen Cook for 30. Upul Tharanga  was next to caught by wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock for 12. Rabada who had dismissed two batsmen overnight claimed his fifth victim, captain Angelo Mathews caught by de Kock for 49 the highest score by a Sri Lankan batsman in the match. Suranga Lakmal  (10) gloved a rising ball from Rabada to de Kock.

Rangana Herath and Lahiru Kumara offered some resistance for the month wicket before Kumara was stumped off  Keshar Maharaf.

Nuwan Pradeep was bowled by Vernon Philander to end the match, leaving Herath 35 not out.

“I felt my rythm was a little off in the first innings but then it got better and clicked in the secondinnings” Rabado told reporters after the match.
