Deep’s corner – Good day for Bangladesh

It was a great day in the history of Bangladesh cricket as they took the field to play their one hundredth Test match. The Tigers put the Lankans on the back foot in the first session as the pacers found a lot of help from the surface. In the second session, fortune favoured Dinesh Chandimal who held the innings together, but the Tigers did script crucial breakthroughs. In the last one hour or so, a stubborn eighth wicket partnership between the Sri Lankan captain Rangana Herath and Chandimal put the hosts in a stable position. Overall, a good day for Bangladesh, but still a lot of work left to be done.

Deep Dasgupta gives his opinion about the actions from day 1 in P Sara Oval at Cricketsoccer.
