129 Runs lead for Bangladesh in first innings; their highest first innings lead in away Tests. Their previous highest first innings lead in away Tests was 109 against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2013. This is only third 100-plus first innings lead in away Test. First instance came against Pakistan in Multan in 2003 when lead was of 106 runs.
8 Number of batsmen scored hundred in their countries 100th Test match including Shakib Al Hasan today. He scored 116 today in Bangladesh’s first innings. Their highest innings total in away Test came in 2013 when they had posted 638 against same opponent. Other instance of highest innings total than this was 595/8(d) against New Zealand earlier this year ended in losing cause which became a record.
131 Runs added by Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hasan for seventh wicket; second-best for seventh wicket for Bangladesh. Best partnership at this position is 145 which was cumulated by Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan against New Zealand in 2010.
