The new season of La Liga is all set to start. The champions of last season, Real Madrid, seem extremely eager to take the pitch and win it all for the Royal Whites.
Real Madrid have the confidence and players to do it for them and under Zinedine Zidane Real Madrid have started to rediscover their lost mojo.
Yes, they are not a brute but an attractive force like Bayern Munich, but despite the struggles, they bagged full points last season and in the new season, they expect to deliver even better.
Sergio Ramos is upbeat, but he is not taking anything for granted.
In an interview published in Marca, Ramos said, “A new season begins. We were league and Supercopa [de Espana] champions in the past, but you can’t live in the past in football.”
“We’re really looking forward to it.”
“It’s been a hard and intense pre-season and, despite the circumstances, we’ve been able to work well at Valdebebas doing lots of preparation work, although I went off with the national team.”
“Real Madrid aspire to [win] every trophy and we’re going to try to start in the best way possible to send a message to the world of what we want to do this season.”
“The objective is to aspire to [win] every trophy.”
“We have to go little by little, step by step, game by game, but we aspire to win everything and so we have to start well, with good intensity and a good rhythm so the season doesn’t seem as long.”
The 34-year-old feels as though he’s prepared, personally, for the challenges that lie ahead, too.
“I’ve worked hard this summer because football is preparation, diet, and rest,” Ramos added.
“I’m very happy here and really looking forward to the start of the season.”
