The defending champions Portugal are placed in a group along with France, Hungary and Germany; still, the best player in the world is motivated and confident that he and his team would be able to get through.
Cristiano Ronaldo warned his opponents in an interview with the Portuguese federation’s magazine ‘360.’
“These are the opponents we have been drawn to play against. We respect all the teams. There are no easy games,” the 36-year-old said.
“I am at this Euro as if it were the first. I feel as motivated or even more motivated than I was in 2004 at my first European Championship,” he continued.
“We are the defending champions and we are again among the contenders for the trophy. There is no point in promising titles or making predictions. What I can promise is that we will go into every game to win.”
“The Portuguese fans can expect the same as always, a team with motivation and ambition.”
“We’ll have a positive mentality that things will go well. The team and all Portuguese fans must believe things will go well.”
“The captain is good. I’ve been working well alongside my teammates and the coaching staff. We’re focused on working well.”
“I hope things go as well as possible, now that the preparation work is done. We just need to fine-tune a few things.”
“Now the ball just needs to start rolling. We want Portugal to start well, with a win against Hungary.”
