Joao Felix is looking forward to Atletico Madrid’s Champions League campaign but knows that Los Colchoneros won’t have it easy against Porto on Wednesday.
The Portuguese have had his injury problems in the recent past, even playing on with an ankle injury for the good of the team, but he’s only thinking about the next challenges facing the side now.
“It’s never easy to play when you’re not feeling well,” Felix said ahead of Wednesday’s game.
“But I did it to help the team. Now I’m fine, I’ve recovered and I’m focused on Porto, which is an important game for us.”
“It’s going to be a very close match and we’ll do our best to get the three points. I know them well, the way they play. I’m ready.”
Felix believes that both Atletico and Porto are the best sides in their respective countries, but thinks that the game at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano could see the fans make the difference.
“It’s important for us [to have fans back],” Felix said.
“We’re a team that feed off the passion of our fans. Having them in the stadium is great.”
“I still haven’t played in front of them at home this season and I can’t wait to.”
