Atletico Madrid came from two goals behind to grab a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Real Sociedad at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, thanks to a Luis Suarez second-half brace.

Real Sociedad took Atleti by surprise and opened the scoring seven minutes in through Alexander Sorloth, who was teed up by Alex Isak.

Los Rojiblancos were struggling to create an attack in the first half and Diego Simeone was forced to send on Yannick Carrasco at halftime, with the Belgium international being particularly lively in the second half.

However, Real Sociedad started off the second half as they had done in the first and doubled their lead when Isak netted a brilliant free-kick from just outside the box.

From that point on it was all Atletico as the hosts piled the pressure on Real Sociedad, and they managed to pull one back through Suarez, who was set up by Joao Felix.

A Felipe Augusto header from a corner kick went just wide, but the referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero awarded Atletico a penalty, which was then converted by Suarez.

Despite pushing for a third, Los Rojiblancos failed to get into a winning position and are now sitting fourth in the table with 18 points and one game in hand on leaders Real Sociedad, who have picked up 21 points.
