Paris Saint-Germain are going through a crisis following their Champions League elimination at the hands of Real Madrid and their 3-0 loss to Monaco in Ligue 1, with Neymar one of the players at the receiving end of criticism.
The Brazilian forward has been accused by journalist Daniel Riolo of barely training with the rest of his teammates, arriving almost drunk at sessions.
“Neymar hardly trains anymore, he arrives in a sorry state, almost drunk,” Riolo told RMC Sport.
“That’s the way it is, Neymar is in a spirit of revenge against PSG.”
The PSG fans’ stance on Neymar
PSG fans whistled at the players after the Real Madrid defeat and Riolo revealed that they believe the Brazil international should depart the club.
“PSG fans don’t give a s**t about Neymar’s antics or his Netflix documentary,” he added.
“We have to sign his check and let him go. He’s doing a lot of damage to the club. Let him go, he is ruining PSG.”
No reaction from PSG
Riolo also claimed there has been hardly any reaction by the club following the Champions League elimination.
“After such a disaster, the bolts should have been tightened. But, nothing. Neither from [sporting director] Leonardo nor from [president] Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Nothing. A total defeat.”
Shortly after he was whistled at in PSG’s game against Bordeaux, Neymar uploaded a few videos on his official Instagram account, where he can be seen playing with his son.
The Brazilian isn’t the only superstar to have come in for criticism in recent weeks, but his case is the most high-profile as he arrived at the club in 2017 ready to lead PSG into a new era and to Champions League success, something that hasn’t happened.
